At The End of The Galaxy

"Settings set. Location confirmed. Setting course to Planet NMZ, location Honeymoon Sector 7, Quadrant Zetha. Cruising range set. Powering up primary and secondary engines. Third and fourth engines powered up. Standing by engine five and six. Fart* holes fully operational. All systems check. No configuration files malfunction. Systems fully operational. Undocking sequence initiated." the A.I on board the ship speaks as the green screen scans for malfunctions throughout numerous systems and operation.

"Undocking sequence part one enabled. Releasing power cables."
"Power cables released. Locking hatch."
"Hatch locked. Releasing hatch."
"Hatch released. Engines five and six powered. Reversing thrusters."
"Undocking sequence part two enabled. Mechanical arms operational. Five meters from dock. Fifteen meters from dock. Thirty five meters from dock. Distance safe."

The ship jerked a little while the mechanical arms detached from the ship. The ship was moving slowly, very slowly. I sat at the cockpit and waited for the A.I to prepare for hyper drive mode.

"Whoa. My first ever romantic dinner with my girlfriend of five years. I mean not to say that we haven't gone to any romantic dinner before. But yeah. Anyway, it was all, well, as you know, down to earth. Haha. But well. Now's the first time ever we are having our dinner somewhere else, the mark of our sixth anniversary. It was in the month of September. September 15th 2045. Our most memorable honeymoon was a trip to Europe. That was three years ago. Then we stayed back at Florida, Miami, to be more specific. Well our relationship has gone through a lot of dilemmas. And I'm telling you, a lot. But, so. The day Stokes Corporation launched their first Spaceship, the Cruiser. Which could travel to Mars in a week and then travelled to Pluto in the following five months. That was technology. That was the breakthrough. But that happened like fifteen years ago. Since then, the economy raised. Conversion of currency became so large that every two years there would be a recession. Stokes Corporation made the world economy imbalanced. But that was then. Now it is balanced. But before that it was expensive to travel in space. It was worthed about a few thousand dollars to travel just to the moon. But still, marriages were made up in space during that time. Anyway. Back to this. She's the most unique girl I've ever met. She would go crazy with her friends, everytime she is with them. She can become as sweet as sugar at times and as bitter as medicine at times. She just have the perfect balance. Anyway, this is a surprise for her so shush it! And oh dear, she's here. Bye-"

"Where are we going Rod?" Samantha asked while clutching her waist.
"Er. Somewhere you haven't been to honey." I answered, looking away.
"Really. Where did you get this ship anyway?" She questioned me like an interrogation officer.
"Erh. Its, somewhere behind my backyard. So. You know."
"Oh. I forgot. You stay in a ten million dollar mansion."
"Its not ten million dollars, seven million."
"Right. So where are we going. You haven't answered. Don't go bla bla blah on me."
"Erm. Okay. Heading somewhere. Oh come on. Don't you know what day is it today? Its twelve forty in the morning. You need some sleep. Go take some rest. We'll be there by morning."
"Oh. Right. Right." she answered snapping her index finger and thumbs together, creating a snapping sound. "I'm sleeping now. Night dearie. No naughty dos."
"Yes dear, I know you for so long." I said with an expression on my face.

I stayed in the cockpit while she went into the room to sleep. There were fifteen bedrooms, thirty five bathrooms and six jacuzzis. One massive kitchen, one large guest room and one entertainment room. The entertainment room has fifty percent of movies that are played in cinemas around the globe. It has a ten player PlayStation Seven version 7.8 and thousands of games. There is a place for karaoke and a small garden with the size of a house to play with. There was a playground, size of two houses. The ship's name was Cruiser. It was about four football fields in length and three football fields in width. It was massive. The engines are so huge that if you stand next to it, its like you are standing next to a four storey buiding. That ship was a present from my father to me. It still runs, for one decade. With nuclear engines. It was worth a few trillion of dollars to built, but lasts for about five decades. Still new.

It takes the entire night to fly from Earth to the destination. Trust me, its superbly awesome. I can't tell you know, you know. But. I'm pretty sure I would snap some pictures of us together. And there would be more surprises for her! I know how much she loved surprises. Anyway, the time now is one fifty five in the morning, Miami time.

I remembered the days when we were together. Holding our hands, and I'm gona tell you, her hands are smoother than any surface you have ever touched. Her heart can be very sensitive at times, but she's normally herself, which I totally loved. She has the best smile any other girl didn't have. She has the most beautiful eyes any guy has ever seen, and she has the most amazing voice any other girl would have. She was beautiful, elegant looking, standing about four feet a few inches tall, perfect body line, has the smoothest palms, a sweet smile, nice personality, even though she can be quite demanding at times. But oh well, she has everything balanced out, perfectly. And oh, did I mention she has the sweetest voice too? My, the first time I heard her voice, I remembered I fell and broke some bones, but it didn't bother me because her voice was like glued to my ear. Still, it took me months just to get a girl like her. Besides, did I tell you? She's way younger than me. The journey there was kinda fast. You'd see stars on your left and right. You'd see revolving blue lights, it can reach seriously far away, detected by astronomers in the year 2000 till 2010.

Anyways. It's like four in the morning now. I'm gona catch some sleep while the A.I takes control.

"Autopilot set. Default settings applied. Goodnight Captain Rodney."

It suddenly became bright. I felt a little heat on my face. Waking up from my slumber I looked out the reinforced window panes which are locked with reinforced titanium hull, to with stand the pressure. Looking in front of me I saw a huge docking station.

"Approaching No Military Zone Honeymoon Space Station Dock(NMZHSS). Speed reduced by ninety percent. Reducing power output to all engines. Shutting down Nuclear engines. Setting up fuel cell battery pack. Fart holes enabled. Six thousand meters."
"Five thousand meters"
"Speed reduced by one hunderd percent."
"Four thousand meters."
"Three thousand meters."
"Two thousand meters."
"One thousand meters."

"Cruise ship Rod at number 377587, dock at luxury VIP port. Welcome Sir."
"Thanks operator."
"welcomed sir."

The A.I spoke, "To all crews of Cruise Ship, please be notified. Docking sequence in T minus One."
"Docking sequence initiated. Part One commenced."

"Cruise Ship 377587, you are cleared to dock. Hangar doors are opened. Standard procedures commenced."
"Roger. Thanks for the info." I replied through the Data Transmission Booster or normally known as DTB.

"Entering Hangar Sector 1, docking number 377587. Three meters from power cables."
"One meter from power cable."
"Ship stopped. Power cable attaching in two seconds. Mechanical arms deployed. Commencing de-pressurization."
"De-pressurization complete."

While the machines were doing their job, I did mine.

"Samantha! We're here!" I called out to her from outside the door.
I heard grunts and she said, "Coming in a minute."
"Okie dokes. Hurry! We've docked!"

A few moments later she came out. The moment the door open, my jaws hung out. She looked superbly beautiful in her pink and purplish dress. Her hair isn't tied, as always. But her fringe was pushed back, so it made her look beautiful. Stepping out of the door she said, "Where are we dear?"
Stunning for a moment, I caught my breath and said, "Oh. The place you've always wanted to go."
She looked surprised and said, "The restaurant at the corner of the galaxy?!" almost screaming.

By then, if you did not noticed her gleaming eyes, you're definitely a noob. Her eyes were glittering and sparkling. She hugged me and said, "Thanks! I love you!"

"Er yeah. We are at the restaurant at the corner of the galaxy." I said, still stunned by her appearance.

We exited the hangar and went to what we call space taxis. They deliver you to where you want to be. The fares isn't cheap. But oh well, for love, money's not the problem. We went into the taxi. It was the size of four massive trucks combined together. It has compartments for almost fifteen people and a cargo hold for all your items. The time was six thirty.

"Destination sir?" the driver asked.
"Erm. Where to Sam?" I asked her.
"Erm, I don't know. The restaurant at the corner of the galaxy?"
"Ahh, the Honeymoon restaurant." replied the driver. "Set. We're moving. Put on your safety belts, rough atmosphere ahead."
"Yeah sure." we replied, almost in sync.

The journey took a few hours. Planet NMZ isn't what you think it is. It has so many destination for couples, a Planet usually called Hollywood Two or the Honeymoon Planet. At eight thirty we arrived in our destination, a restaurant, floating on the edge of the Milky Way. We do not know, but that planet is located at the edge of our solar system. Manufacturers took almost two decades building the restaurant. The restaurant was awesome. Everything felt like on Earth. The restaurant looked like a huge cube floating in space, but its actually moving, with the gravity of Planet NMZ below. The restaurant cost a massive quadrillion to built, but with the recession on during that time, it went down to trillion of dollars to build. And now, it seems so majestic.

Amazed at the restaurant, Sam hold my arm, the look on her face said that it was impossible we are there, at that exact moment. It felt as though it was all a dream, but, it was not, just a dream. It was a dream come true for her. I've saved every dollar for the trip to here, for five years. We stopped at the door towards an escalator leading all the way to the restaurant. Below the restaurant was like a dock or dropping off station, where space taxis drops off passengers. It takes about a few minutes to dock and get the passengers out. So we waited.

After it was complete, we were inside the restaurant. Holding hands we looked at the glass door infront of us. It was five inches thick. The windows were made out of reinforced plastic and glass, like bullet proof windows, but inserted with a kind of substance which made it ten to twenty times stronger. The waiter looked on at us and smiled.

"Welcome to the Restaurant At The Corner of The Galaxy. Today we are directly at the edge. So enjoy your moments. Which location do you want sir, miss?" he said with an Indian accent and bowed as a sign of respect.
"Maybe we should take the one facing the entire universe." I replied.
"Sure thing. Here, let me show you your table."

We followed him to a location with nothing, but just glass all over. It was rather cool and there were love songs playing from the nineteen hundreds to the twenty first century love songs. We sat, facing each other. Looked at the menu and she gasped. I smiled and told her, "Relax. Its not that expensive as I would have thought."
She smiled and said, "That's sweet of you dear."

I smiled back. We had our lovely breakfast with other galaxies overlooking us, the nearest was Andromeda, could be seen with a telescope from the restaurant.

"This is so beautiful." she said with a smile on her face. Gosh, that smile melted me heart.
"Yeah. And so are you." I replied.

She then gave me a sweet look and said, "So, is that all?"
"Haha. Nope. There's more to come. Relax. Our time's not in yet right?"
"Oh. What time is it?" she asked.
"Nine fifty."

She smiled. "Okay. What's your surprise now?"

Looking around and looking at my watch, it displayed ten o'clock sharp. With my heart racing faster and faster, my nervousness came into me, making me stammer a little bit but soon I gained control of myself and asked her the question, "Samantha James Morrison, would you marry me?"

The exact day, exact time and a romantic location is where we got married. Three years from then on it seemed unbelievable. I was only twenty eight and she was twenty three when we got married. And at the end of the galaxy was where I proposed to her. It all seemed so romantic, a blue revolving light a few million light years away, could be seen from the restaurant. It was magnificent. And after all, the most romantic place to be was at the end of the galaxy.

*Fart holes: Fart holes are tubes which are located at the front, on both left and right of a spaceship to even out the center of the ship, it basically makes your ship travel from A to B, not A to C. Get the meaning? Fart holes are propelled by nitrogen gas, some by carbon dioxide, and ignited with ten spark plugs to produce a small jet or jerk to the ship to move from one side to the other. It was like steering left and right in a car.
